Every class at LA Woodshop is overseen by our highly skilled instructors who have years of experience as professional furniture makers. You’re in good hands — and those hands just so happen to be masters in the woodshop.

Getting started in woodworking can feel intimidating, but it shouldn’t be! LA Woodshop’s Introduction to Woodworking class will teach you everything you need to know to start your journey into woodworking and furniture making.

Over the course of one day, you’ll learn the basis for every woodworking project going forward: milling. We’ll guide you through the process of taking a rough piece of lumber, straight from the lumberyard, to a beautiful finished project that you can take home and proudly display.

You’ll come away having learned to safely use the table saw, jointer, planar, bandsaw, drill press, and other common tools found in every professional woodshop.

We’ve got you covered for all materials and safety equipment. Please wear comfortable clothes. Avoid wearing baggy clothes and open-toe shoes. Additionally, tie back long hair and don’t wear dangly jewelry.

Any cancellation or appointment change made within 48 hours of your class will not be refundable or will require a $100 rescheduling fee.

Any no-shows or day-of cancellations will be treated as a non-refundable cancellation and will not be rescheduled.
