Learn to turn a block of wood into a beautiful, unique table-side lamp over the course of three sessions! Expand your knowledge of woodworking and the use of the lathe and further your creative path as we cover lamp-construction techniques and the fundamentals of design. Come as a total beginner or an advanced woodworker and use the sculptural lamp to light up new ways of making.
The lathe is the woodworking equivalent to the pottery wheel. If you ask someone who does it, they’ll tell you there are few things more meditative and calming than turning.Your instructors will take you through the basics of the lathe and how it works, how to safely operate one, and how to turn a beautiful wooden lamp from a block of rough lumber to a finished, functional masterpiece.
Price includes materials and lamp hardware (no shade). Technical information will include machine tool use, woodturning, and basic lamp wiring.
