Lathe Turning: Souvenir Mini Bat Class

November 23 · 9:00 AM — 4:00 PM
4:00 PM
Hit a tiny grand slam with our Souvenir Mini Bat class! Over the course of a one-day workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of baseball bat making while you turn your own souvenir mini bat out of a block of rough maple. Mini bat dimensions: 18" Length x 1-1/4" Diameter

The lathe is the woodworking equivalent to the pottery wheel. If you ask someone who does it, they’ll tell you there are few things more meditative and calming than turning.

Your instructors will take you through the basics of the lathe and how it works, how to safely operate one, and how to turn a beautiful wooden mini bat from a block of rough lumber to a finished masterpiece. The skills you'll learn can be applied to turning a larger, useable baseball bat.
